OPs returned to 15-a-side rugby with a narrow 24-15 pre-season defeat to High Wycombe.
Chris East opened the scoring for Old Priorians in the first play of the game, before David Howe scrambled over four minutes later, Will Taylor converting the latter. Taylor added another 3 from a penalthy on the stroke of half time to send OPs into the break 15-0 ahead.
before the home side grabbed another try out wide, unconverted, to bring them to within 3 with 10 minutes remaining.
High Wycombe began their fightback with a converted try at the 60 minute mark, shortly followed by a try out wide to bring the score to 15-12 with 10 minutes remaining.
The home pack burst through from 10 metres out with 3 minutes to go, taking them ahead for the first time in the game.
A promising kick-off, collection and final attack from OP was swiftly ended with an intercept ionfrom High Wycombe, leaving the final score at 24-15 to the home side.
Overall, a good return to rugby for the OPs having not played for 18 months, with particular praise for the front five who completed 80 minutes in their first game back.
